PART of the A36 is set to be shut from the early evening for a fortnight of works, starting tonight.
According to Highways England, teams will close the busy road in both directions between West Wellow and Ower from the hours of 7pm to 6am.
The drainage works will run from this evening, December 9, until December 20.
This closure will be in place from Slab Lane in Wellow – just north of the Lower Common Road/Canada Road roundabout and the Nisa Local – and run to the Ower roundabout.
A diversion route, which will be signed, has been put in place to send drivers onto the A27 and the A3090.
Motorists will also be affected by another closure on the A36 from the M27 to the Ower roundabout.
However, this will only be shut northbound, with the southbound lane still open.
This closure will also be in place from December 9 to 20 between 7pm and 6am.
