Plaid Cymru scored a double win on Ammanford Town Council on Thursday with the election of two new councillors.
In Wernddu ward, Stephen Douglas Davies had an emphatic victory with 185 votes.
The conservative candidate gained 49 and the Independent candidate scored 45
In Myddynfych ward, Plaid gained the seat from Labour.
Plaid candidate Rhodri Jones achieved 141 votes, Emyr John for Independent won 112 votes, with Emma Raeburn for Labour trailing on 77 votes.
Rhodri is a teacher and has represented Ammanford in both Cricket and Football.
He is vice-chair of Ammanford Football club and has raised a lot of money for charity through his sporting achievements
Stephen is also a keen sportsman and has also raised large sums for charities.
Speaking after the election, Town Mayor and Plaid County Councillor Deian Harries said: ” Congratulations to both winners.
"I know that they will work hard for our town and for all the residents of their wards”
