A man is to stand trial accused of kidnapping his fiancée in Cross Hands--despite telling a judge they still planned to marry.
Jake Adam Evans, aged 32, is accused of bundling Julie Phillips into his car against her will and driving her away.
Swansea crown court heard today how police stopped Evans' car in Bryngwili Road, Cross Hands, on March 23 following a 999 call from a member of the public.
Evans, a professional house cleaner, appeared before Judge Geraint Walters for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
He denied kidnap, battery, possessing a sword in a public place and damaging a pair of handcuffs belonging to Dyfed Powys police.
Frank Phillips, prosecuting, said the incident began in High Street, Tumble, close to Evans' home.
Evans told the judge through his barrister that his marriage to Miss Phillips was scheduled for August 26.
Evans was granted bail until his trial on July 23.
