Crowds of people took to the streets of Llanelli on Friday to walk in memory of an Ammanford teenager who died following an incident at a Llanelli comprehensive school last month.

The Walk a Mile for Bradley event was held in memory of Bradley John, a former pupil at St John Lloyd Catholic Comprehensive School.

Hundreds attended the walk which also raised money for the 2 Wish Upon a Star charity, which provides bereavement support for families who have suddenly and traumatically lost a child aged 25-years-old or younger.

The march started in Stepney Street, Llanelli, before heading through the town centre.

Bradley, 14, passed away on September 12 after he was rushed to hospital from school, where doctors were unable to save him.

Bradley’s father, Byron John has since alleged that he was the subject of bullying at the school, and appeared on ITV’s This Morning to give an account of Bradley’s final day.

He spoke about Bradley’s life growing up with ADHD, and how the condition made him a ‘magnet’ for bullying.

Last week Mr John, along with his partner Kate Pickard, Bradley’s 12-year-old sister Danielle, and crowds of others, marched to St John Lloyd Comprehensive to call for the resignations of the headteacher and governors.

A JustGiving page has been set up to help pay for Bradley’s, a former Ysgol Tycroes and Ysgol Dyffryn Aman pupil’s, funeral costs raising £230.
