A CONSULTATION has launched to find out residents’ views on a suggested planning application for 28 homes in Glanaman.

The plans would see the homes built on land to the rear of 68 and 70 Tir Y Coed Road, Glanaman.

Developers, Enzo’s Homes Ltd are intending to submit the planning application for the properties to Carmarthenshire County Cuoncil and are undertaking a pre-application consultation ahead of submission to get residents’ thoughts.

The plans would involve the demolition of the former Amman Valley Hospital as well as 68 and 70 Tir Y Coed Road in order to facilitate construction of the 28 homes.

A new access route would also be created for the development.

Members of Cwmaman Town Council discussed the proposed application at a meeting last week and found a number of flaws.

They were concerned with the quantity of housing suggesting, the increase in traffic on an already crowded road the development would create, and the impact it would have on schools and surgeries in the area which are already close to full.

Councillors also highlighted problems with land drainage and the potential for flooding, and the fact that the suggested development would be taking place outside of development limits.

All relevant drawings surrounding the plans can be viewed online.

Computer facilities are available to view the application online at Bedol Library, Ysgol Y Bedol, Folland Road, Garnant, on Tuesday between 3pm and 6.30pm, Wednesday between noon and 2.30pm, and Friday between 3pm and 6.30pm.
