ORGANISERS of a popular Ammanford event are looking for volunteers to ensure the show will go on this year.

Ammanford Big Day Out has been attended by thousands of people over the last 13 years, and it is renowned for entertaining residents with plenty of activities, but it is jeopardy of not being able to return this year unless people step forward to help with the proceedings.

Last year’s event saw performers, old fashioned cars and a children’s workshops take over the town and now organisers are looking for organisations and individuals to help with the summer event to ensure this years can be bigger and better than previous years.

Organisers of the event, which is usually held in July, include Rotary Club of Ammanford, Ammanford Enterprise Partnership, Ammanford Town Council, Carmarthenshire County Council, the Ammanford on Track Action Team, Ammanford Football Club, Ammanford Rugby Club, Dyfed Powys Police and St John Ambulance who work together to ensure the event runs smoothly.

A spokesperson for Ammanford Big Day Out said: “Although the event continues to attract more people to the area and is getting bigger each year, we need more individuals who are able to help out on the day and also help with the organising of the event.

“It would be an absolute shame if the event couldn’t go ahead this year as it has been a part of the town for over a decade.”
