A Capel Hendre man who failed to clean up after his dog in Waterloo Road has been fined £75.
He was issued with a fixed penalty notice by council environmental enforcement officers who were on patrol in the area at the time of the offence.
Failure to pay could lead to prosecution in the magistrates court and a fine of up to £1,000.
Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Councillor Jim Jones said: “Dog fouling is a criminal offence; not only is it a nuisance but it is very unpleasant and can lead to health implications.
“Anyone caught not cleaning up after their pet will be fined by our enforcement officers who carry out patrols across the county seven days a week.
“We are determined to clean up Carmarthenshire for both our residents and thousands of visitors every year.”
