A TUMBLE mother who used threatening and abusive words towards police officers and within the hearing of a passerby has been fined.
Anne Mary Hemmings, of 13 Rhosnewydd, pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates to using threatening and abusive words likely to cause harassment on March 23.
Prosecuting, Sian Vaughan, told the court that police were called to an incident at Rhosnewydd where they discovered a 31-year-old shouting obscenity in the street.
“When officers arrived at the scene they approached Hemmings, who was clearly in distress, and told her to calm down – but she continued to with her antisocial behaviour,” said Ms Vaughan.
“A member of the public was passing by and could clearly hear Hemmings swearing and acting in a disorderly manner.
“The officers gave her a final warning which she ignored.”
Defence solicitor Richard Morgan told the court that Hemmings was sorry for her actions.
District Judge David Parsons fined Hemmings £110 and ordered her to pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
