THE Amman Valley came to a halt on Sunday as residents of all ages gathered to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two world wars and later conflicts.
At services all across the region, the nation paused to honour the fallen who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Major Ken Burton, President of the Ammanford British Legion, praised the respect shown to the service.
“Despite the inclement weather the act of remembrance at the Memorial Gates in Ammanford went really well,” he said.
“The service was very well attended.”
