SINCE last weekend Ammanford police have received numerous calls from local residents involving a man acting suspiciously, the Guardian has learnt.
A spokeswoman said that at least six reports have been made that the man has called at people’s homes asking for a lift as his vehicle has broken down.
“It’s suspicious, because no vehicle has been seen with the man,” said Sgt Kerry Scoberg. “And we have had at least six reports of a similar nature over the past week. These have been made in various locations in and around Ammanford town.
“The man is described as being white, between 20 and 30 years of age, of medium build and height and he spoke with an Irish accent. The concern is that this man is up to no good.
“I would ask local residents to beware of this individual and to report any sightings of him to us at Ammanford Police Station on 101.”
