AN Ystalyfera man is celebrating after learning his script for a short film is to be broadcast on the BBC next week.

Musician Idge Logan, 38, entered the script writing competition through production company It’s My Shout, and was surprised to learn his short film ‘Bilingual Bank Job’, had been selected for production.

“It was a huge shock,” said Idge, lead singer and guitarist with ‘This River’.

“I’ve written children’s novels in the past but this was my first script, I was surprised to hear the news I’d won.”

Once production had started Idge was given the opportunity to take up a cameo role, which led him to win the title of supporting actor at an awards night in Cardiff’s Millennium centre, last month.

“It’s My Shout host a premier and awards night each year, it was a great event attended by Rob Brydon, and to top it off I came away with the award for best supporting actor,” said Idge, now living in Port Tennant, Swansea.

It’s My Shout Productions produces short films and each year up to 30 of these short films are produced for BBC Wales, S4C, UK Film Council and the Arts Council of Wales.

You can catch Bilingual Bank Job on BBC2 at 11.20pm next Tuesday, November 19.
