Plan B, Cardiff Motorpoint Arena

Cardiff Motorpoint arena recently welcomed Plan B (aka Mr Ben Drew) plus special guests Labrinth and Rudimental.

Rudimental opened proceedings, immediately getting the crowd warmed up for the arrival of Plan B with their energetic performance of hit singles Feel the Love and Not Giving In.

The quartet from Hackney, London, are a great gem to the music industry, such a talent - as support acts go they are one of the best I’ve seen.

The extremely talented Labrinth bounded on to the stage with great enthusiasm and, as always, performed outstandingly, with the whole room bouncing as he sang to Tinnie Tempah’s Pass Out, Earthquake and his latest collaboration with Emilie Sande, Beneath your Beautiful.

I wasn’t sure how Plan B’s setwas going to go with both albums in completely different genres.

He arrived on to the stage dressed very dapper in a tailored suit with a very simple backdrop of large screen and live band – who needs gimmicks when you have the talent Plan B has, hey?

The first half was dedicated to The Defamation Of Strickland Banks album, including hits Stay Too Long, She Said and Prayin, with full audience participation.

Before the second half, beat box extraordinaire Faith SFX warmed the fans up for Plan B’s second installment of the night.

The superstar belted out tracks from Ill Manors - with shots of the film of the same name projected on a big screen – this being his directorial debut.

Proceedings then heated up, literally, when Labrinth returned for Playing with Fire, with flames shooting from oil drums at the back of the stage.

Plan B didn’t disappoint.

His energy and passion on stage gets the crowd going, which makes for a fantastic experience.
