Ammanford’s Miners’ Theatre will mark St David’s Day on Friday, February 28 with a special concert that will bring a host of talented musicians, singers and choirs to celebrate this special day in the Welsh calendar.

Following on from the success of last year’s sold-out St David’s celebration in Ammanford, this year the line-up of performers will include tAmman-Valley based choir, Côr Lleisiau’r Cwm and Harmoni, both of which come under the baton of Catrin Hughes.

Only Men Aloud singer, Steffan Hughes will take to the stage, as will former Ysgol Dyffryn Aman pupil, the clarinettist Catrin Soons, who is currently studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) in Cardiff. They will be accompanied by an up and coming young accompanist Joseph Cavalli-Price who also studies at the same music conservatoire.

The evening will be hosted bilingually by S4C presenter, Heddyr Gregory.

The concert, which is produced by Loud Applause Productions on behalf of Carmarthenshire Theatres, has become an annual fixture in the theatre’s programme to celebrate and showcase the best of Welsh culture.

Ammanford St David’s Concert will take place on Friday 28th February, 7pm at The Miner’s Theatre, Ammanford. Demand for tickets is expected to be high as last year’s concert was a sold-out event. Advanced booking is strongly recommended and tickets can be purchased by calling the Box Office on 0345 226 3510 or online at www.theatrausirgar.co.uk or from Ammanford Library during usual opening hours.
