Kilgetty began well and spread the ball wide to take advantage of Caerbryn’s sluggish start, grabbing an opening goal inside ten minutes.

The home side regained their composure as David Roberts threaded the ball through to Simon James who found himself one-on-one with the on-rushing keeper.

The striker coolly side-footed the ball into the bottom corner of the goal.

Caerbryn began to grow in confidence and David Roberts playing another wonderful through-ball, this time for David Morris who bulged the net with his side-footed effort.

The third goal came from Rhys Morgan riding three ill-timed challenges down the right flank, reaching the by-line and whipping in an exquisite in-swinging cross that evaded the keeper and dropped at the feet of Simon James.

The inform Caerbryn striker buried the ball in the back of the net for his 15th goal of the season.

Kilgetty set about the second half with purpose and Caerbryn found themselves under pressure for the first 20 minutes of the second half.

The spell brought out the best in Caerbryn’s centre backs Rhys Morgan and Stuart Willis, and goalkeeper Dylan Thomas.  Midway through the half, Kilgetty did managed to breach the Caerbryn defence and create a one-on-one opportunity against the out-rushing keeper.

The ball was squared towards the supporting attacker, only for defender, Tomos Williams, to intercept in the six-yard box.

Caerbryn went on to create one more chance, only for Simon James to be denied his hat-trick thanks to a good stop from the Kilgetty keeper.

Caerbryn progress to the next round of the cup and wish to thank match sponsor ASJ Carpets of Ammanford.
