Cwmgors secured a spot in the next round of the West Wales Division 4 Cup with a resounding victory.
The match saw the team triumph over Tregaron with a score of 62-19, thanks to nine tries at Parc y Werin.
Cwmgors’ centre Owen Davies marked his 75th game for the club, and hooker Carwyn Morris his 50th, as they played a crucial role in the match.
The scoring began with an early penalty from outside-half Jordan Smith.
Tregaron managed to cross the try line first, but Cwmgors quickly reclaimed the lead with a try from Smith following a well-executed break by the backs.
A swift tap-and-go caught the Tregaron defence off guard, allowing scrum-half Mike Jones to score.
Flanker Alun Lewis’ impressive work set up number-eight Riley Rees for another try, further cementing Cwmgors’ lead.
By half-time, the score stood at a convincing 29-5 in favour of Cwmgors, with Steff Phillips also scoring a try.
As the second half began, the home side continued their offensive, with centre Owen Davies breaking through the Tregaron defence for a converted try.
Substitute Cai Lewis soon joined the scoring after a clever chip ahead by Smith.
Tregaron, demonstrating resilience, fought back to score a try, but the home team responded with another from substitute Ceirion Thomas, bringing the score to 50.
Owen Davies then scored from a quick tap-and-go.
Despite Tregaron managing to score again, the final word went to the Cherries, with Davies completing his second-half hat trick.
Cwmgors are set to return to league action on Saturday with another home fixture against Crynant at the park.
