Ammanford Cricket Club's junior teams showed off their skills as the South Wales Junior Cricket League Under 10s final was played by two of the club's teams.
Sunday, August 18, saw a historical event unfold at Pontarddulais Cricket Club's Ffosyrefail ground.
For the first time in the 51-year history of the tournament, two teams from the same club, Ammanford Greens and Ammanford Blacks, faced off.
In the game, the Blacks won the toss and elected to field first.
Under Evan Williams' leadership, the Greens accumulated 80 runs for only one wicket lost, a net score of 276 in 16 overs.
In response, Gabe Healy's Blacks managed 70 runs for nine wickets, with a net result of 234.
Llywelyn Edwards, Macsen Mainwaring, and Steffan Richards shone as star bowlers for the Greens.
The Greens triumphed by 42 runs, earning them the John Edwards Cup and club bragging rights.
Barry Cawte, chief executive of Cricket Wales, presented both teams with the Zone A and Zone B league trophies before handing over the winners' trophy to the Greens' captain.
Player of the match honours went to the Greens' Steffan Richards.
