Cwmamman United rued missed opportunities after drawing with Dafen Welfare in the league.
The Macron Premier League match at Dafen Park ended Dafen Welfare 1, Cwmamman United 1, with Cwmamman United dominating much of the game but unable to secure the win.
Fresh from their victory against title favourites Penlan, Cwmamman United travelled to Dafen Park with confidence.
As expected, Cwmamman United launched several attacks on Dafen's goal, with Charlie Davies, Cam Berry, and Myles Perkins impressively creating opportunities for Elliot and Taylor Smith, along with Alfie Phillips.
This resulted in a well-directed goal by Myles Perkins in the 12th minute, giving Cwm the lead.
Despite struggling for rhythm, Dafen managed to maintain the one-goal deficit through to half time.
The second half saw Dafen increase physicality, edging back into the game.
However, Cwm, with Lewis Gibbs' solid defence in the box and assistance from James Gorman and Cam Williams, limited Dafen’s opportunities.
Nevertheless, in the 56th minute, a long ball found Dafen's Elliot Jones, whose header deflected off the crossbar, securing an equaliser for Dafen.
The remainder of the game saw increased intensity with Cwm often foiled by a misdirected final pass.
Dafen’s yellow cards accumulated, however, Cwm's Evan Gibbs saw red in the 84th minute after a rash tackle. Moments later, Ryan Foschi of Dafen was also shown a red card.
Despite two additional close shaves for Cwm, both attempts went over the bar, ending the game in a frustrating draw.
While the result was disappointing, it was still a decent point on the road for Cwm, giving them four points from their two opening games.
They now prepare to host Glais AFC at Grenig on Tuesday, August 13 at 7pm, followed by CKSV FC on Friday, August 16 at 7pm.
