AMMANFORD AFC Manager Gruffydd Harrison continued his JD Cymru South preparations this Saturday by running the rule over his squad in an inter-club game on the reserve team pitch at the Recreation Ground.

The game was played in typical November conditions, strong winds and driving rain.

However, there was a feel-good factor amongst the players and management that an organised game of football could take place in this COVID 19 environment. Strict protocol procedures were adhered to ensure the safety of all involved.

There were smiles all over the pitch as all the players showed that they were all glad to be playing football again in an organised club setting.

The game itself was played in a highly competitive spirit and it looks already that Gruff will have a very useful squad at his disposal with strikers Lee Trundle and Joel Beynon showcasing their forward play.

It is now hoped that the delayed new JD Cymru South Season is now edging that much closer with an early 2021 start being mooted as a distinct possibility, subject to Wales FA confirmation.
