The development of Grenig Park, home of Cwmamman United, took a major step this week with the installation of match floodlights.

This follows on from last season’s introduction of three spectator stands totalling 275 seats and a pitch side cafe.

Keith Jones, the Club President, who led the project said: "This is a huge achievement for the club and additional proof that we have developed a facility that the community can be proud of.

"We are truly grateful for the support of Carmarthenshire Council and the FAW and we are all hugely excited at the thought of bringing evening Welsh Championship football to the valley under our superb lights.

"They will be great events and we will also look to launch the lights as a special occasion.

"It does not stop here though as we now move on to the next phase of developing an internal mini stadium at Grenig that will create more opportunities for more junior teams and community events for the people of Cwmamman."
