Bryn Rovers - 5

FC Clydach - 1

Bryn Rovers bounced back from last week’s disappointment with an assured 5-1 victory over FC Clydach.

It took 15 minutes for the hosts to open the scoring as Mark James fed the ball forward to Mark Griffiths whose shot from distance gave the goalkeeper no chance.

Bryn doubled their lead five minutes later as Griffiths grabbed his second from inside the six yard box, showing neat footwork to earn the opening.

Griffiths complete his hat trick before half time.

Played through on goal by Rob Smith, the striker calmly took the ball around the ‘keeper and slotted his shot into the back of an empty net.

The second half proved a tighter affair, but FC Clydach were still unable to keep Bryn, and the rampant Griffiths at bay.

The striker scored his fourth of the game as he lashed home from Marc Thomas’ free kick mid way through the second period.

Griffiths eventually allowed someone else to get in on the action as Gareth Thomas came off the bench to score with a header with his first touch of the game.

The visitors eventually managed to pull one back late in the game, but it was little more than a consolation as Bryn ran out comfortable 5-1 winners.
