WRU Division 3B West

Amman United – 48

Lampeter Town – 7

AMMAN United ran in seven tries as they maintained their winning start to the season with a 48-7 demolition of Lampeter.

Wing, Liam Danter ran in a hat trick, while there were also scores for Steff Rees, Alun Lewis and Joel Foster.

Rees didn’t miss a kick all day, and opened the scoring with an early penalty.

He doubled the lead with a second strike soon after, and then continued his extraordinary start to the game by running in a try, which he duly converted.

Lampeter were getting into positions to score, but proved toothless at the business end of the field.

Amman, on the other hand, were ruthless and looked lethal on the counter attack.

Liam Danter scored his first try off the back a lightning counter, rounding his man to race in and score.

Quickly after Danter cross again, this time going from 80 metres deep to score.

The hat trick, and Amman’s bonus point, was secured before half time.

Steff Davies set the ball up on a plate for Danter who went under through the posts to score.

Amman continued to enjoy good possession after the break, helped in large part by the dominance of their front five, and more pressure saw backrow man Alun Lewis stride over.

To their credit, Lampeter never gave up the ghost, and after United were reduced by a man following Alun Lewis' yellow card, they capitalised to rumble over for a consolation try ten minutes from the end.

But Amman bagged another before the final whistle as scrum half Joel Foster strolled over and converted his own score.

Amman will hope to extend their unbeaten run when they face a trip to Bynea on Saturday.
