AMMAN United were beaten convincingly by Whitland to find themselves staring at the trap door with games running out.

A brace of tries from centre Steff Davies was not enough to avoid a 59-12 drubbing at the hands of title chasing Whitland.

The visitors were on a four-game losing streak heading into the game, but stunned Whitland early on as Davies crossed early for the opening try.

Amman were soon camped inside their own 22 however, and by half time, the hosts had powered into a 24-5 lead.

Travelling only with a squad of 18, there was not much Amman could do to combat the fresh legs that were introduced in the second half by Whitland.

Davies capped a good personal performance with a second try, and added the conversion himself, but the hosts ran out comfortable 59-12.

United are on the road for a third straight game next week, as they visit Tumble in a game that could have a huge bearing on where they ply their trade next season.
