Welsh League Division Two

Cwmbran Celtic 2

Cwmamman United 3

CWMAMMAN returned from Gwent with all three points and an identical scoreline to the League Cup meeting between the sides in January.

Cwmamman started the game better and created several half chances with Jordan Langley going close.

On 20 minutes the hosts took the lead when Jordan Lloyd Evans was adjudged to have bundled over Josh Bull on the by-line resulting in a spot kick which Lee Challenger fired beyond Cwmamman goalkeeper Mark Snell.

The hosts were soon two up when poor defending allowed Bull to find the bottom left hand corner from an acute angle.

As in their League Cup meeting, Cwmamman pulled a goal back when David Brown's superb free kick gave Cwmbran's keeper no chance. Another Brown free kick just before the interval went narrowly wide.

The second half saw Cwmamman dominate and with Evans on a caution changed things around, replacing with Jack Medwin.

Cwm equalised on 55 minutes when a pinpoint 30-yard pass by Jonathan Eames found Liam Soroka to level.

Two minutes later the visitors were in front when the three front men combined to set up left winger Cory Saunders to fire home from 15 yards.

With the hosts throwing everything at them, Cwm’s defence stood up to the test while Craig Spring, Eames and Brown won the midfield battle.

Cwmamman had several chances to extend their lead but were guilty of wasted opportunities, particularly when Langley fired high and wide with only the keeper to beat.

The visitors did think they had a fourth when Soroka's powerful shot found the roof of the net but he was adjudged offside.

Next week Cwmamman entertain Pontardawe at Grenig Park.
