Elsewhere, wins from Nigel Harris and Mal Jones were not enough for Cross Hands B, beaten 5-2 by Morfa.

Burry Port Legion dropped just one frame, to Peter Howatson, in winning 6-1 at Llandybie Social.

Pontyberem Workmens’ defeated Upper Tumble Blues 5-2, with Kieran Evans, Kevin Sellwood, Darrell Treharne and Alun Harris on top. Alan Samson and Ian Tinnuche replied for Blues.

In Division Two , CGMD gained a welcome 6-1 victory against Penygroes RFC, with Nigel Powney, Wyn Llewelyn, Alun Rees, Jonathan Thomas and Raymond Evans all on the ball. Only Terrence Howells replied for the rugby club.

Meanwhile, Garnant Club’s excellent run continued with a 4-3 win at Llanelli Cons B. Stuart Dunn and Lyn Hopkins were among their winners.

Electricity B earned a 6-1 win against a man-short Matchroom A while Calsonic Rivals were beaten 5-2 by Tycroes RFC A, for whom Matthew Bromham, Martin Davies, Arwyn Rees and Keith Jones won. Reading Room Reds were aggregate 4-3 winners at Trimsaran A.

Burry Port Reading Room Blues (Craig Jones 61 break) beat Llanelli Cons A 5-2.

In Division Three, Tycroes RFC B enjoyed a fine 6-1 win against Llandeilo Hall, courtesy of Matthew Davies, Arnallt Evans, Clive Jones and Colin Jones. A Jameson was the sole Llandeilo winner.

Mike Dodd (44 & 32 breaks), B Evans, Julian Wilde and Darren Williams (30) gave Gorseinon Workmens’ a 5-2 victory over Cross Hands A, whose winning duo were Roy Foster and Lyn Morgan.

K Evans, G Keaney and M Davies edged a 4-3 win for Cross Hands C against Great Mountain - Anthony Stephens, Endaf Jones and Mark Martin were on top for the Tumble side.

Elsewhere, Alan Ashmund, Callum Jackson, Andrew Whitfield, Martin Pereira and Jac Evans earned Snooker World B a 6-1 success against New Lodge B.

Meanwhile, Ponthenri Social convincingly beat Pont Cons B 6-1, thanks to Coffi Howells, Robert Regola, Mark Regola, Kev Lewis and Verdun Lewis. Adrian Thomas salvaged a point for Bont.
