Ammanford secured their status in the JD Cymru South with a 5-0 win against local rivals Llanelli Town.

A fine day saw a large crowd, with a section of the Ammanford crowd in good voice throughout.

A nervy start was not helped with news that Risca Utd had taken an early lead against Afan Lido, which at that point put Ammanford into the bottom three.

Nerves were settled when man of the match, Euros Griffiths, a colossus at the heart of defence throughout, headed home from a corner in the 25th minute.

There were few chances for either team before the break.

Ammanford came out for the second half clearly determined to add to their lead.

The second goal came virtue of top scorer Tristan Jenkins in the 50th minute, when he calmly slotted the ball passed Exauce Dimonekene when through on goal.

Lee Trundle added a third goal for Ammanford in the 62nd minute when he used his strength to hold off the attentions of a Llanelli defender before lashing the ball into the net.

Tristan Jenkins scored his second of the game in the 80th minute when he slotted the ball into the far-right hand corner of the net when put through on goal.

Ryan Kostromin scored his first goal for Ammanford to put the icing on the cake with the last touch of the game when he headed home a rebound after a save from DImonekene.

The final whistle from the referee sparked wild scenes in the home stand with Ammanford celebrating another season in the Cymru South.
