AMMANFORD 0

CARDIFF MET 4

TWO goals in each half were enough to ease Cymru Premier side Cardiff Metropolitan University to a 4-0 win in their Nathaniel MG Cup tie against Ammanford AFC at the Recreation Ground.

First half goals from Emlyn Lewis and Adam Roscow were followed in the second half by efforts from Matthew Chubb and Christopher Baker to seal the victory.

The Archers showed their qualities under the guidance of their manager Christian Edwards, and Ammanford were unable to come up with the answers on how to break through the visiting defence.

The hosts were often on the back foot as Met’s lively full back Chubb took every opportunity to race down the flank, and he was rewarded when he latched onto a long raking pass from the back and tucked away his opportunity in the second half.

For Ammanford Kai Whitmore, Tristan Jenkins and Lee Trundle tried to apply some pressure especially in the latter stages of the first half, but that was as good as the home side could manage as they were literally limited in their opportunities by a very organised Met’s team.

Overall it was a very professional job from the Cymru Premier outfit, who were thoroughly deserving of their victory in the end.

For Ammanford, it was back to JD Cymru South league action on Tuesday evening when they faced Llantwit Major at home before then travelling to face Swansea University on Friday.

After their 4-2 defeat at home to Taffs Well, Ammanford will be keen to get back on the track in the league, having started their campaign with wins against Llanelli and Briton Ferry Steel.

Elsewhere in the Nathaniel MG Cup, Llanelli Town lost 5-0 away at Barry Town.
