Ammanford’s 90th minute winner from Tristan Jenkins sparked scenes of pure enjoyment at the Recreation Ground on Tuesday evening, July 27, in a seven goals thriller.
Ammanford trailed 1-2 at half time and 1-3 early in the second half but turned this game on its head with a 4-3 win.
Tristan Jenkins, mesmerising the Briton Ferry Llansawel defence, hit the post early in the first half when it was 0-0.
Briton Ferry Llansawel took an early lead after six minutes with a penalty kick scored by Liam McCreesh.
Briton Ferry Llansawel made it 2-0 near half time with a strike from Steve Davey but in first half stoppage time Tristan Jenkins pulled a goal back - 1-2 to Ferry at the break.
Six minutes into the second half an own goal from Ammanford’s Mat Jones increased Briton Ferry Llansawel’s lead to 1-3.
Tristan Jenkins got his second goal to reduce the deficit to 2-3.
The red mist descended when two red cards were shown to Woods of Briton Ferry Llansawel and Ammanford’s Kai Whitmore.
Briton Ferry Llansawel’s Goalkeeper McFenton made some excellent saves to deny Ammanford especially in the first half which despite the half time score Ammanford dominated the possession stats.
Lee Bevan central defender got the equaliser to make it 3-3 and Jenkins' 90th minute winner secured the win for Ammanford.
