Ammanford AFC won 3-0 away from home at Stebonheath against Llanelli Town.
Lee Trundle scored two goals, the first a sublime individual effort after 10 minutes played in the first half, his second was from the penalty spot late on in the second half.
Tristan Jenkins scored after 22 minutes in the first half after some good hold up play from Trundle to set Jenkins free from the home defence. Jenkins’ pace took him in on goal and he slotted the ball into the Reds net.
For the Reds Zac Brown missed a penalty in the first half.
Llanelli’s James Loveridge and Lewis Reed had good chances to get their team back in the game. Ammanford’s defence stood firm with Euros Griffiths making an excellent block tackle whilst his captain Rhys Fisher kept ex-Ammanford flyer Gavin Jones at bay.
Ammanford did have a penalty awarded in the second half but Ammanford’s Liam Samuel had his penalty kick saved. But Trundle made amends with his penalty kick to seal the win.
Ammanford’s Kai Whitmore was named man of the match.
Ammanford AFC play Briton Ferry Llansawel at the Recreation Ground on Tuesday and welcome Taffs Well to the Rec next Friday both 7.30pm kick offs. Both games are JD Cymru South league games.
