Ammanford Park kept their hopes alive of progressing further in the Carruthers Shield by drawing against rivals Ammanford Bowls Club last Saturday.

The match turned out to be a pulsating encounter which fluctuated from end to end and was not without its anxious moments.

Playing the last five ends the storm clouds were gathering, a sign for the Parks to buck up their ideas, the weather was deteriorating by the minute reducing the green to something resembling a lake, and with three rinks completed and scurrying to the pavilion it was left to rink two to try and master the dreadful conditions which was now something of a lottery. But Postman Pat Price held his nerve securing two shots over the remaining two ends to leave the game all square.

It was the parks only success, Adrian skipping his rink to a 26-11 victory over John 'Tumble' Evans.

The hosts responded with a 24-11 win by Bernard Williams over Kieran Peregrine a 24-11 win by Dai Turvey over Nick Bithray 22-29 dray game 20 all by Hywel Jeremiah and Wayne Owen.
