Ammanford U12s 7 Carmarthen 4

THE Under-12s played their last game of the season in a thoroughly entertaining fixture against high flying Carmarthen Town at the Rec.

Carmarthen went in front in the third minute but the lead was short lived as Ammanford equalised when Dafydd Nicholas' snap shot was parried by the keeper, but Lee Rees was on hand to level the score.

Ammanford were able to take the lead after 17 minutes when Nathan Pearce's cross from the right fell into the path of Lee Rees for an easy tap in.

Carmarthen were awarded two penalties by young referee Nathan Mullock, who had an outstanding match, to gain the upper hand minutes before the interval. Not to be outdone, Ammanford levelled the scoring on the stroke of half-time through the impressive Lee Rees who recorded his hat-trick.

The second half saw Ammanford gain the upper hand and earn what was in the end a comprehensive victory. The sustained pressure soon paid off as Lee Rees, Michael Evans (2) and Sion Jones scored the goals to give Ammanford a perfect end to their season.

Ammanford U12s 3-4 Dafen U12s

AMMANFORD gave unbeaten Dafen the fright of their lives as they battled back from 3-0 down to level matters before finally conceding a crucial, late goal.

The game was deadlocked until the 15th minute, when a long range shot bobbled in front of the Ammanford keeper and ended up in the back of the net. With their tails up, Dafen took full advantage and scored a further two goals.

However, Ammanford showed their fighting spirit and pulled a goal back through Lee Rees just before half-time.

After a goalmouth scramble, the ball was cleared off the Dafen line only as far as Nathan Pearce, who poked the ball into the net.

The best goal of the game soon followed with an attacking move started by Dafydd Nicholas at fullback, through the Ammanford midfield, and ended with a long range cross from the left flank which was headed home by Nathan Pearce.

From the re-start, however, Dafen were awarded a free-kick. The ball was chipped in and with Ammanford appealing for off-side, Dafen were able to score what proved to be the winner.

Camford U12s 0-4 Ammanford U12s

The first goal came after ten minutes when some fine interpassing from the heart of the Ammanford defence led to Nathan Pearce opening his side's account. Lee Rees then added a second to take his individual goal tally to 32 goals for the season.

The second half was a carbon copy of the first and it came as no surprise when two further goals were added. Ciaron McLaren's fine shot from just inside the box was the goal of the game, while Lee Rees scored his second and Ammanford's fourth late on.

Dafen U15s 2-0 Ammanford U15s

AMMANFORD were hoping to end their season on a winning note when they travelled to Dafen for their last game of the season. However, this was not to be, as missed chances cost Ammanford dearly. Dafen were able to score a goal in each half and end Ammanford's season on a disappointing note.
