A café in a quiet market town is among the the best biker stops in the UK.

The Owl's Nest Tea Room Diner, tucked away in a log cabin on Lower Road, Llandovery, has earned national acclaim as the top biker café in the country, beating more than 1,300 venues listed on the UK Biker Cafes app.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 on Tripadvisor and ranked third among all restaurants in Llandovery, the café has been a popular fixture since opening in April 2008.

One recent visitor summed it up neatly: "Food and atmosphere amazing"

The Owl's Nest is known for its generous portions and welcoming atmosphere.

Its menu includes all-day breakfasts and burgers, alongside vegan, gluten-free, and keto-friendly options.

It also serves oat milk raspberry matcha lattes, herbal teas, and locally sourced Welsh drinks.

One of its signature drinks is the Welsh Honey Butter Hot Chocolate.

However, visitors should note that chips aren't on the menu.

The café was established by the current owner and their family on the site of the old Llandovery pet and garden centre.

Although the garden centre closed in 2011, the café continued to grow in popularity.

The Owl's Nest is about more than just food.

It has fostered a strong sense of community among its visitors.

On the first Sunday of each month, the café hosts a Mental Health Hub, supported by a trained mental health first aider from the Mental Health Motorbike Charity.

The venue has supported the Wales Round Ribbon charity and helped raise more than £10,000 for Blood Bikes Wales in 2023.

It also aims to raise even more for Wales Air Ambulance through its annual ride-out event.

In 2013, the café received a Bronze Award from the Carmarthenshire Tourism Association for outstanding service in tourism.

The Owl's Nest is open Tuesday to Friday from 10.30am to 5pm, and Saturday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

The kitchen closes at 4pm.

It welcomes dogs, families, and wheelchair users, and offers free off-street parking.

Card payments, barista coffee, and takeaway options are also available.
