Carmarthenshire County Council has celebrated the achievements of adult learners across the county during Adult Learners Week.
The council's tourism team has launched the Carmarthenshire Tourism Ambassador Scheme, which provides people with training and knowledge about the county's special qualities.
The scheme currently has more than 400 registered ambassadors and is urging more people to get involved.
The council has also been using money from the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) to encourage education among adults.
Multiply, a partnership between Carmarthenshire County Council, Coleg Sir Gâr and Adult Learning Wales, works with adults aged 19+ to improve their confidence in mathematics.
Multiply offers fun, practical sessions tailored around individual or group needs. All sessions are free.
Multiply sessions have been benefitting learners from across the county.
One learner, Amani, signposted to Multiply in August 2023, was able to undertake a course funded by Multiply and delivered by Carmarthenshire Learning Service at the Llanelli Railway Goods Shed.
Amani successfully completed the course and achieved a grade B GCSE Maths qualification.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s customer service Hwbs are located around the county, offering help, support and advice on a range of topics.
Dedicated Hwb staff are on hand to help people with any enquiries about how they can get involved in courses for adult learners.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s cabinet member for education and Welsh language, Councillor Glynog Davies, said: "Adult Learners Week is a great time to showcase the important work being done within the county.
"The council is dedicated to creating an environment that individuals can learn throughout their lives in a language of their choice.
