A MAN has denied strangling a woman, telling the court he was instead putting her in a headlock.
Matthew Taylor, 31, of Bryntirion in Llanelli, appeared at Swansea Crown Court charged with intentional strangulation.
It was alleged that he strangled a woman in Ammanford on May 15 last year.
He pleaded not guilty.

Alycia Carpanini, defending, said the incident occurred following an argument between Taylor and the woman, which led to her pushing him and him placing her in a headlock.
Judge Paul Thomas KC set a trial date of January 22, and readmitted Taylor to bail until that date.
