Local MP Adam Price has welcomed news the ambulance service has been given a six- month target to improve its performance.
The Plaid MP, who has held meetings with local paramedics as well as with representatives of the Ambulance Service in recent weeks, says improvements must be made to tackle key areas of delivery within the service.
Adam Price MP said: "I recently had a meeting with the chief executive of the Welsh Ambulance Service, Alan Murray, and was able to discuss a number of the very serious concerns that have been brought to my attention by paramedics in the county," said Mr Price.
"Issues such as ambulance response times, especially in rural areas like Carmarthenshire, have to be addressed as a matter of urgency.
However any developments must be implemented with the cooperation of the staff on the ground to ensure that staff morale is not suffering."
