A NUMBER of people have been in court recently for a variety of charges.

Rachel Louise Hinton, 48, of Maes y Fron, Garnant, admitted breaching the requirements of a suspended sentence order at Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 24.

The order was implemented by the court on September 1 and she breached the order by failing to attend unpaid work appointments on December 14 and December 21.

She was fined £200 and ordered to pay £60 costs.

Mark Lloyd, 34, of Heol Llethryd, Pontyberem, admitted three charges at Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 26.

He admitted two counts of using threatening/abusive words/behaviour against the same victim on December 24.

He also admitted a count of stalking involving serious alarm or distress against the same victim when between January 1, 2021, and December 24, 2022, he used threatening language and was staring at the victim which amounted to stalking, causing the victim serious alarm or distress, having a ‘substantial adverse effect on his day-to-day activities.

He was given a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. He was ordered to pay £128 surcharge and £85 costs.

A restraining order was also made, banning him from going near or communicating with the victim for three years.

Rachel Phillips, 29, of Maes y Fron, Garnant, admitted a charge of sending communication of an indecent/offensive nature at Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 26.

She admitted that on January 1, 2022, she sent Facebook messages ‘which was, in whole or part, of an indecent or grossly offensive nature for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety to the recipient or to any other person to whom you intended that it or its contents or nature should be communicated.’

She was fined £120 and ordered to pay £48 surcharge and £85 costs.
