SIX Ammanford residents have recently appeared in court for a range of offences.

Andrew Dobson, 39, of Wind Street, Ammanford, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court on July 21 on a number of charges.

He was given a 15-month community order for breaching an existing order on May 23. He broke the order by being racially abusive to a police officer on May 23 and for criminal damage caused on the same day by spitting inside a police vehicle which meant it had to be professionally cleaned.

He was found guilty of both offences and the order was put in place. He also had to pay £650 costs and £120 fine.

He also pleaded guilty to three counts of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. Two of the charges related to offences on May 5 and the third on May 15.

He received no separate penalty for the offences but was ordered to pay £85 costs for two of them.

Geoffrey Goodenough, 65, of Heol Llwchwr, Ammanford, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court on July 21 where he admitted two offences.

He was charged with assault by beating which took place on Blue Street, Carmarthen. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and £80 surcharge.

He also admitted possessing an offensive weapon in a public place after being caught at the same location with a wooden stick. He was given no separate penalty for the offence but the stick was confiscated and destroyed.

Luke Mark Anthony Smith, 29, of Wind Street, Ammanford, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court on July 22.

He admitted assaulting a police officer on July 21. His initial community order was revoked and he was given a 15-month community order which involved mental health treatment and 200 hours unpaid work. He has to pay £50 compensation and £85 costs.

Stephen Llewellyn Davies, 43, of Teglan Park, Ammanford, was ordered to pay £1,322.32 in child support by Cardiff Magistrates Court on July 21

The court ordered the payment be made for the period between November 10, 2018, and February 1, 2022, after ruling that the defendant was given adequate notice of the liability order.

Gary Mainwaring, 44, of Heol Waun Ddwfn, Ammanford, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on July 25.

He was caught on February 10 doing 36mph on A483 Llandeilo Road, where the limit is 30mph. He was fined £107 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Nathan John McNeil, 36, of Llandyfan, Ammanford, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on July 25.

He was caught on December 9 doing 36mph on A474 Cwmamman Road, where the limit is 30mph. He was fined £112 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
