FOUR people from Pontarddulais have appeared in court for driving offences, failing to provide information and breaching community orders.

Karen Shute, 53, of Water Street, Pontarddulais, was found guilty of speeding by Cardiff Magistrates Court on July 8.

She was caught on January 27 doing 36mph on Carmarthen Road where the limit is 30mph. She was fined £220 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

James Davies-Yandle, 42, of Garnswllt Road, Pontarddulais, was found guilty of failing to provide information relating to the driver of a vehicle by Bath Magistrates Court on July 8.

He failed to provide the information relating to the identity of a driver believed to have been guilty of an offence to Avon and Somerset Constabulary on January 26. He was fined £660 and given six points on his licence. He also had to pay £66 surcharge and £90 costs.

Christopher John Bevan, 35, of Clayton Drive, Pontarddulais, admitted speeding at Hereford Justice Centre on July 18.

He was caught on November 17 doing more than the 50mph limit on the M5 between J6 and J5. He was fined £166 and banned from driving for six months. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Ashley James Luck, 39, of Clos Maes yr Ysgol, Pontarddulais, admitted breaching a community order at Llanelli Magistrates Court on July 18.

He failed to attend unpaid work appointments on May 29 and June 5 and failed to provide a good reason for missing the appointments. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £60 costs. The court allowed for his initial community order to continue.
