Music legend Sir Elton John will be jetting into Swansea for the final time this week when he performs as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour in the Swansea.com Arena.

But his appearance this Wednesday, June 29, means that motorists are being warned of major traffic delays following the partial closure of Brunel Way. The closure will take effect from 2.30pm.

As a result, concert-goers with on-site parking must access the car park via the A4067 dual carriageway as there is no other entry to the arena car park.

There will also be a temporary road closure in place at the end of the concert. Closure of the A4067 dual carriageway, which is the road opposite the stadium, is expected to take place for at least 45 minutes.

The road will re-open once it is deemed safe to do so.

This is the second time that the Rocket Man star will play the Swansea stadium. His previous appearance set a record attendance of over 24,000.

This resulted in a roll call of major names taking to the stage including Take That, The Killers, Pink, Rod Stewart, JLS, Manic Street Preachers, Lionel Ritchie and Little Mix.

The 75-year-old Elton is still performing to an incredible standard despite a hip operation which means his performance remains chiefly confined to his black grand piano.

Yet despite his ageing years, he continues to be the fourt best-selling artist of all time.
