A PONTARDAWE man has had £100,000 confiscated following an order by Swansea Magistrates Court.

TARIAN, the regional crimes unit, was granted the order on June 1 to continue the detention of the money from Brian Birch of Barrow Road.

The order allows for TARIAN to keep hold of the money for six months.

TARIAN is part funded by the Home Office, Dyfed Powys Police, Gwent Police and South Wales Police and is a multi-disciplinary team of police officers and staff from the three forces.
