A NUMBER of changes are being made by Carmarthenshire County Council as to whether you can wait on certain roads in the county.

The changes were outlined in a public notice – published in the South Wales Guardian on Wednesday, May 25 – and details a large number of roads where waiting will now be prohibited.

The roads in the territory of the South Wales Guardian patch that will be affected include:

  • Norton Road, Penygroes on the south side from a point eight metres south of the centre of the junction with Blaen Emlyn for a distance 15 metres in a north-easterly direction.
  • Blaen Emlyn, Penygroes on both sides from the junction with Norton Road for a distance of five metres in a southerly direction.
  • Colonel Road, Betws on the west side from a point five metres north of the centre of the junction with Heol y Felin for 30 metres in a northerly direction.
  • Lane adjacent to Llandeilo Road, Cross Hands on the north-east side from the junction with A476 Llandeilo Road for four metres in a north-easterly direction. On the south-west side from junction with A476 Llandeilo Road for 32 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • A476 Llandeilo Road, Cross Hands on the west side from a point 10 metres south-west of the centre of the junction with the lane adjacent to Llandeilo Road for 20 metres in a north-easterly direction.
  • Bryn Hafod, Tycroes, Ammanford on both sides from the junction with TRA483 for 10 metres in an easterly direction.
  • Heol Hendre, Garnant on both sides from the junction with Folland Road for 10 metres in a north-easterly direction.
  • Folland Road, Garnant on the north side from a point 10 metres north-west of the centre of the junction with Heol Hendre for 20 metres in a south-easterly direction.
  • Heol Ceirios, Llandybie on both sides from the junction with the A483 for 15 metres in an easterly direction.
  • Llandeilo Road, Upper Bynamman on both sides from a point 164 metres south-west of the centre of the junction with Pant y Dwr for 44 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • Norton Road, Gorslas on the west side from a point 20 metres north of the centre of the junction with Grove Hill Park for 35 metres in a south-easterly direction.
  • Grove Hill Park, Gorslas on both sides from the junction with Norton Road for 10 metres in a south-westerly direction.
  • Gate Road, Gorslas on the east side from a point 250 metres north of its junction with Norton Road for 220 metres in a north-westerly direction. On the west side from a point 245 metres north of the junction with Norton Road for 215 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • Llandeilo Road, Llandybie on the east side from a point 55 metres north-west of the junction with High Street for 24 metres in a north-westerly direction. On the west side from a point 52 metres north-west of the junction with High Street for 23 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • Bethesda Road, Tumble on both sides from the junction with Heol y Neuadd for 10 metres in a south-westerly direction.
  • Heol y Neuadd, Tumble on the west side from a point 15 metres north-west of the centre of the junction with Bethesda Road for 30 metres in a south-easterly direction.
  • Heol Cwmmawr, Drefach on the north side from a point 20 metres south-east of the centre of the junction with Heol Tyisaf for 30 metres in a south-easterly direction.
  • Heol Bryngwili, Cross Hands on the south side from a point 84 metres south-west of the junction with Cross Hands Square for 32 metres in a south-westerly direction and from a point 157 metres south-west of the junction with Cross Hands Square for 30 metres in a south-westerly direction.
  • Unclassified exit road leading from Aldi supermarket, Cross Hands on both sides from the junction with A476 Llandeilo Road for eight metres in a south-easterly direction.
  • A476 Llandeilo Road, Cross Hands on the south side from a point 60 metres north-east of the centre of the junction with Meadows Road for 10 metres in a north-easterly direction.

Alongside these prohibitions, a further notice published states that waiting, loading and unloading will be banned on the following streets:

  • Folland Road, Garnant on the east side from a point 11 metres north-west of the centre of the junction with Vicarage Road for 40 metres in a north-westerly direction. On the west side from a point 14 metres north-west of the centre of the junction with Heol Uchaf Yr Orsaf for 31 metres in a south-westerly direction.
  • Heol Uchaf Yr Orsaf, Garnant on the west side from the junction with Folland Road for a distance of 52 metres in a south-westerly direction. On the east side from the junction with Folland Road for 54 metres in a south-westerly direction.

There will also be limited waiting times of 30 minutes and no return within one hour on the below road:

  • Queen Street, Llandovery on the south side from a point 18 metres west of the centre of the junction with Gellideg for nine metres in a westerly direction and from a point 30 metres west of the centre of the junction with Gellideg for nine metres in a westerly direction.

Limited waiting times of 15 minutes and no return within 15 minutes will be in effect on the below streets:

  • Heol Saron, Capel Hendre on the east side from a point 20 metres north-east of the junction with Waterloo Road for 16 metres in a north-easterly direction.

Limited waiting times of 30 minutes on all days will affect the below:

  • Norton Road, Penygroes on the south side from a point 17 metres north-east of the junction with Blaen Emlyn for 15 metres in a north-easterly direction.

Limited waiting times of two hours with no return within two hours between 9am and 6pm Monday to Saturday will affect the below:

  • Carmarthen Street, Llandeilo on the west side from a point 28 metres south-east of the junction with New Road for 19 metres in a south-easterly direction.

A number of waiting restrictions have also been lifted. A revocation of the no waiting between 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday has been lifted on the following street:

  • Carmarthen Street, Llandeilo on the west side from a point 28 metres south-east of the junction with New Road for 19 metres in a south-easterly direction.

A revocation of the ‘no waiting at any time’ restriction has been made for:

  • Greenfield Place, Llandeilo on the west side from a point 36 metres north of the junction with New Road for 12 metres in a northerly direction, from a point 53 metres north of the junction with New Road for 18 metres in a northerly direction and from a point 74 metres north of the junction with New Road for 18 metres in a northerly direction.

There is also a revocation of residents parking Monday-Saturday between 8am and 6pm for Queen Street, Llandovery on the south side from a point 18 metres west of the centre of the junction with Gellideg for 21 metres in a westerly direction.
