FIVE drivers from Carmarthenshire and Swansea Valley have been in court for driving offences.

Carl Richard Davies, 36, of Wernoleu Road, Ammanford, was given a suspended sentence by Llanelli Magistrates Court on May 5 after being found guilty of a number of offences.

He was given an 18-week sentence suspended for 18 months for dangerous driving when he was caught in Ammanford on January 28. He admitted the charge on February 3. He was also banned from driving for four years.

He was also given a concurrent 18-week sentence suspended for 18 months for drink driving after being found guilty on March 21. His blood alcohol level was 111 microgrammes of alcohol per 100millilitres of breath when he was caught by police on January 28. He also had to pay £128 surcharge and £650 costs.

He received no separate penalty after admitting driving without insurance.

David Ian Elias, 64, of Talbot Road, Ammanford, was found guilty of failing to provide information by Llanelli Magistrates Court on May 4.

He failed to provide information relating to the driver of a vehicle believed to have been involved in an offence to Dyfed Powys Police on November 9. He was fined £660 and banned from driving for six months. He also had to pay £66 surcharge and £90 costs.

Naomi Elicia Morgan, 27, of Bronywawr, Pontardawe, was found guilty of failing to provide information by Cardiff Magistrates Court on May 3.

She failed to provide information relating to the driver of a vehicle believed to have been involved in an offence to South Wales Police on December 16. She was fined £660 and given six points on her licence. She also had to pay £66 surcharge and £90 costs.

Liam Thomas Fleming, 35, of Lon Tanyrallt, Alltwen, Pontardawe, admitted being in charge of a vehicle whilst unfit due to drink at Swansea Magistrates Court on May 4.

He was caught on Birchgrove Road in Swansea on April 14. He was given a community order for treatment for alcohol dependency and to carry out 40 hours unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £95 surcharge and £85 costs. He was also banned from driving for 12 months.

Nicholas Jones, 35, of Swansea Road, Trebanos, Pontardawe, was found guilty of failing to provide information by Cardiff Magistrates Court on May 4.
