SIX people have recently appeared in court for driving offences committed in Carmarthenshire and Swansea Valley.

Gary Christopher Lewis, 40, of Talardd Villas, Llandeilo, was found guilty of failing to provide information relating to the driver of a vehicle by Cardiff Magistrates Court on April 25.

He failed to provide the information to South Wales Police on February 4 and was fined £660 and given six points on his licence. He also had to pay £66 surcharge and £90 costs.

Nasi Alexe, 31, of Symmons Street, Swansea, admitted speeding in Llandovery to Llanelli Magistrates Court on April 22.

He was caught on October 31 doing 69mph on A483 near bridge over Afon Bran Llandovery, which has a limit of 60mph. He was fined £150 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Lucy Heafield, 27, of Woodlands Terrace, Cross Hands, was found guilty of driving without insurance and without a valid test certificate by Llanelli Magistrates Court on April 27.

She was caught on November 13 on the M4 close to J47. She received a £660 fine and seven points on her licence for the offence of driving without insurance. She also had to pay £66 surcharge and £90 costs. There was no separate penalty for the driving without a valid test certificate.

Mauro Vito Calo, 45, of Lime Grove, Twickenham, was convicted of speeding by Llanelli Magistrates Court on April 4 and was sentenced on April 27.

He was caught on September 28 doing 35mph on the A476 Gorslas in Cross Hands, which has a limit of 30mph.

He was given three points on his licence but avoided a ban as he would have lost his job as a stunt driver. He was fined £512 and ordered to pay £52 surcharge and £110 costs.

Stanley James Rudge, 43, of Bethleham Road, Llandeilo, admitted two driving offences at Llanelli Magistrates Court on April 28.

He was caught driving without insurance and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence on November 12. His licence had expired on December 31, 2009, after being revoked. He was given a £120 fine and six points on his licence for driving without insurance. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs. There was no separate penalty for the second offence.

Mark Short, 40, of New Road, Ammanford, was found guilty of failing to provide information relating to the identity of a driver by Llanelli Magistrates Court on April 27.

He committed the offence by failing to provide the information to Dyfed Powys Police on December 20. He was fined £660 and given six points on his licence. He also had to pay £66 surcharge and £90 costs.
