HERE are the Carmarthenshire and Swansea Valley people who have recently appeared in court for a range of crimes.

Happy Hounds Wales Ltd, of Tabernacle Road, Glanamman, Ammanford, received a £1,000 fine for failing to provide information relating to the driver of a vehicle believed to have been involved in an offence.

Cardiff Magistrates Court gave the fine on April 22 and ordered for £100 surcharge and £110 costs to be paid after the offence was committed on November 5.

Simon Thomas, 35, of Tir Waun, Cross Hands, admitted running a red light to Cardiff Magistrates Court on April 22.

He committed the offence on October 5 on the A4061 Rotary International Way in Bridgend. He was fined £148 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Leon Owen Rees, 37, of Min-y-Rhos, Ystradgynlais, was given a 50-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months for drug possession.

He was handed the sentence by Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates Court on April 22 after admitting the offences.

He was caught on May 21 with 0.5g of cocaine in his possession. He was given 24 weeks for this offence and a further 26 weeks for possession with intent to supply cannabis after being caught with 205g of the class B drug.

He was also given 12 weeks for possession of class B drug ketamine and 26 weeks for possession of 228 packs of Etizolam, at a total amount of 3,178 tablets. It is a class C drug. These two sentences are to run concurrently. Rees is under a curfew for 12 weeks and had to pay £128 surcharge and £85 costs. The drugs were forfeited and destroyed.

Craig Wayne Cole, 24, of William Street, Ystradgynlais, admitted breaching a community order at Swansea Magistrates Court on April 20. He failed to comply with his unpaid work requirement.

He was given an £80 fine and ordered to pay £60 costs.

A warrant for arrest without bail has been issued by Swansea Magistrates Court on April 20 for Paul Francis Walters, 65, of Herbert Street, Pontardawe, who was due to appear in court for a November 7 offence of driving with cannabis in his blood.

William David Humphries, 81, of Francis Street, Pontardawe was found guilty of speeding by Cardiff Magistrates Court on April 21.

He was caught on October 12 doing 31mph on Birchgrove Road – which has a limit of 20mph. He was fined £440 and given four points on his licence. He also had to pay £44 surcharge and £90 costs.

Courtney Meredith, 20, of Swansea Road, Trebanos, Pontardawe, admitted speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on April 21.

She was caught on October 12 doing 35mph on Birchgrove Road – which has a limit of 20mph. She was fined £246 and given five points on her licence. She also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Alexanda James Fetch, 22, of Clos Nant Ddu, Ynysmeudwy, Pontardawe, was found guilty by Cardiff Magistrates Court on April 21 of failing to provide information relating to the driver of a vehicle believed to have been involved in an offence.

He was fined £660 for the offence on November 18 and was given six points on his licence. He also had to pay £66 surcharge and £90 costs.

Liam Thomas Fleming, 35, of Lon Tanyrallt, Alltwen, Pontardawe, was found guilty by Cardiff Magistrates Court on April 20 of failing to provide information relating to the driver of a vehicle believed to have been involved in an offence.

He was fined £660 for the offence on October 10 and was given six points on his licence. He also had to pay £90 costs.

He was also fined another £660 for the same offence which happened on October 22 and ordered to pay £132 surcharge and £90 costs. He was also banned from driving for six months.

William John Jones, 56, of Tawe Terrace, Pontardawe, admitted drink driving at Swansea Magistrates Court on April 22.

He was caught on April 3 with 47 microgrammes of alcohol per 100millilitres of breath. He was banned from driving for 16 months and ordered to pay £120 fine, £34 surcharge and £85 costs.
