A wonderful tribute to the Llandeilo Covid-19 support volunteers is now on display in the newly refurbished Hengwrt in Llandeilo.

It is a framed list of all those members in the town and surrounding areas who went out of their way to help the community, including the vulnerable, who were living in isolation during the pandemic.

"There are over 122 names on the list of all ages," said a spokesperson for Menter Bro Denefwr.

"It was inspiring as to how many people offered their services, whether it was delivering prescriptions or shopping, helping at the food bank, taking hot meals to the NHS, walking dogs, gardening or manning the phone helplines and email.

"So many people wanted to reach out and offer their services in so many different ways.

"Isaac Romanov commissioned the list to honour all the volunteers and local artist Kate Glanville was asked to contribute illustrations that might help us remember the various aspects and Government rules and restrictions we had to follow.

"Furniture maker Jonathan Garrard made a beautiful oak frame for Isaac’s list and Kate’s illustrated mount, with J W Thomas & Sons gifting the printing of it."

It will be permanently exhibited in Menter Bro Dinefwr’s new headquarters in Llandeilo’s The Hengwrt (the former Shire Hall) on Carmarthen Street.

Visitors will be able to see it in the main entrance beside the gift shop, Cyfoes 10am -5pm, Monday – Saturday.
