AN AMMAN Valley motorist has avoided prison for drink driving and failing to stop after a road accident.
Karl Nicholas Carter, of Wern Road, Garnant, admitted driving over the limit on May 9 when appearing at Swansea Magistrates’ Court earlier this month.
The court heard Carter gave a breath test reading of 97 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Carter, 47, also admitted driving a Seat Leon, on May 9, in Gwaun cae Gurwen, where an accident occurred and damage was caused to a Land Rover Freelander, and he failed to stop.
Carter was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months. He must comply with a supervision order and carry out 120 hours of unpaid work within the next twelve months.
He was also banned from driving for three years and ordered to pay £128 to fun victim services.
