Dinefwr Ramblers is joining thousands of walking groups from all across Britain in encouraging people to beat the winter blues.

They say the Walk Your Way campaign from Ramblers GB is "the perfect opportunity to embrace the season in good company."

There will be a weekly programme of guided walks that include 2-3 hour strolls on footpaths through the countryside, as well some full-day hikes in local forests and hills.

They are inviting the public to join them to try out a few walks before deciding whether to join.

Ros from Dinefwr Ramblers said: “Our walks are not only a great way to make friends and socialise, but they also help us to keep fit and healthy during the long winter months.

“They are usually quite relaxed and we often take time to take photographs and enjoy spotting wildlife, as well as getting to explore our local area.”

Linda Jenkins of Tycroes, who joined the Ramblers four years ago on retiring from nursing, said: “I love the social side of rambling, being out in the fresh air and exploring new routes.

"I’ve made some good friends and gained new skills and confidence from leading walks.”
