PLANS for a wildflower meadow in Betws park are taking shape.

Betws Council has teamed up with the National Botanic Garden of Wales as part of a biodiversity project that will see a wildflower meadow above the former tennis court.

On November 27, Botanic Gardens Professor Kevin McGinn will deliver seeds from the Garden’s own meadows, along with over £300 worth of plug plants, to give the meadow a head-start ready for the spring and summer months.

Volunteers, including children from the local schools, will also be on hand to help with the project.

The team of volunteers will be meeting at 10am on Saturday, November 27 – more volunteers are welcome to turn up and help out on the day.

Organisers have also made a plea for more tools, including rakes and hand trowels.
