Ysgol y Bedol pupils have been helping out at their local food bank.
The schoolchildren at the Garnant school recently visited the food bank at the Community Centre in Glanaman to help prepare food parcels.
The school is also supporting local county councillor Kevin Madge and the Meals on Wheels initiative in Garnant, distributing hot food to the elderly residents in the community, prepared at the golf club.
Headteacher Gethin Richards said: "Both projects are important initiatives and is an important lifeline to many citizens of Garnant, Glanaman and the wider area.
"The projects will see year five and six pupils actively engage with community projects, ensuring that the pupils become ethical and informed citizens in our communities."
Praising the schoolchildren, Cllr Madge said: "I am delighted to see the children involved in these community initiatives. It is great to see them helping out in their local community and seeing how important these projects are to the people that rely on them."
