PONTARDDULAIS were all out for just 93 runs as they slipped to a six-wicket defeat to South Wales Premier League division one leaders St Fagans.

Bowler Thomas Bevan tore through the top order to put them in real trouble, with only Cameron Herring, batting at five, managing to make an impact.

Herring hit 4 fours in his defiant knock of 40, and Ed Sivak, batting at eight, finished on 20 not out, when the Pontarddulais innings ended after 39.4 overs.

Bevan led the way with the ball to return 4 for 33 from his 10 overs, with Dan Lewis-Williams taking 2 for 21 from 6, and Owen Morgan 3 for 31 from 10.

Both of St Fagans' openers were removed cheaply, but Owen Morgan, batting at number three, carried his side to victory with 45 not out, including 5 fours.

Dan Lewis-Williams, batting at number five, provided support with a knock of 18 runs as the league leaders reached their winning score 94 for 4 in 32 overs.

Dafydd Davies had economical bowling figures of 2 for 12 from 10 overs, which included 5 maidens, with Tomos Fowler and Richard Grant each taking a wicket.

* There was success for Pontaddulais Seconds as they won by five wickets against Gorseinon Seconds, who had posted 213 for 7 after their 50 overs.

Opener Chris Richards (33, with 7 fours) and Robert Morgan (18, with 2 fours) showed resistance for Gorseinon, before Joe Baker scored an unbeaten half century.

Baker, batting at seven, hit 5 fours and 2 big sixes in his 55 not out, with lower order support from John Mann (17) and Jamie Mann (44 not out, 9 fours).

Richard Davies returned 2 for 17, Jack Arrowsmith took 2 for 30, Oliver Rogers 2 for 40, and Elis Lowe 1 for 55 for Pontarddulais Seconds.

In reply, opener Alex Thomas and Cameron Davey both went for ducks off the bowling of Rhys Barlow, but Lewis Edwards at number three revived the innings.

Edwards had made 55 when he was caught and bowled by Sean Murphy, and Matthew Williams also weighed in with an important 20 runs.

It was left to Jac Arrowsmith, 42 not out, and Ryan Thomas, 17 not out, to score the winning runs as they reached a winning total of 214 for 5 in the 46th over.
