A drink-driver who failed to stop after an accident has been fined, banned and must carry out unpaid work.

Emily Down, of Parc Gwernen, Fforestfach, Tycroes, was found to be more than two times the alcohol limit after her car struck a female pedestrian leaving her with injuries, in Penybanc, Ammanford.

The case was heard at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on July 1 where the 27-year-old faced charges of driving a Citroen DS3 on May 30 without a licence, failing to stop after a road accident where a person was injured and drink-driving.

A breath test showed Down had 92 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35.

She pleaded guilty to all charges was fined £153, must pay £85 cost and £95 surcharge. She was also handed a 28-month driving ban and must carry out 250 hours of unpaid work.
